Excellent Denmark Loving – Japan Interested in Denmark’s Approach to Quality of Life

The Royal Danish Embassy in Tokyo has worked closely with Excellent Denmark Loving Magazine to dedicate the 10th celebratory issue of the publication to showcase Danish Quality of Life. Japan is keenly interested in learning about Denmark’s approach to quality of life, through health and social reforms and smart use of innovative technology. The editorial team and journalists visited Denmark, conducted interviews and hosted health policy and innovator discussions, resulting in a collection of stories presenting positive practices leading for quality of life organisation, efficient health solution implementation and citizen use of innovative products with superior value demonstration.

Topics covered include the strategic partnership and sector cooperation in health between Denmark and Japan by the Danish Minister for Health, and Denmark’s Ambassador to Japan addressed how the integration of medical care and social welfare has increased quality of life outcomes. Examples were shared on how Denmark’s new ‘Super Hospitals’ change medical care, and how the use of distance and telehealth solutions in municipality settings support the family doctors in delivering home health and citizen-centred care. Enterprises and health innovators discuss the evolving role of quality of life in product development, by ensuring patient input for better care management and health promotion.

Economic Diplomacy Goes Analogue in a Digitalized World

It is key to Denmark’s economic and public diplomacy efforts that we can engage a broader audience by delivering a printed magazine, with stories told by and for Japanese in their own language. The magazine will be delivered personally to key policy and institutional stakeholders, allowing the Royal Danish Embassy to convey value messages in person, and establish lasting relationships needed for service model redesign and health delivery, that recognize the smart use of technology and the impact of environmental and social determinants on quality of life outcomes.
