The Crown Prince Couple Opens “Spritual Greenland” Exhibition in Japan with Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado

Together with Their Imperial Highnesses Princess Takamado and Princess Tsuguko of Takamado, Their Royal Highnesses the Danish Crown Prince Couple yesterday opened the Greenlandic Exhibition, Spiritual Greenland, at Hillside Terrace in Daikanyama, Tokyo. Also present were the Danish Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Dan Jørgensen, the Premier of Greenland, Kim Kielsen and the Greenlandic Minister for Fisheries, Hunting and Agriculture of Greenland Karl-Kristian Kruse.

The exhibition features Greenlandic monster-figurines known as tupilaqs collected by Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado’s late husband during a visit to Greenland. The exhibition additionally features Greenlandic masks from His Royal Highness the Prince Consort of Denmark’s personal collection of Greenlandic artefacts, as well as aquarelles paintings depicting the history of Greenland by Greenlandic artist Nuka K. Godtfredsen.
Spiritual Greenland is open to the public from March 28th, and can be seen at Hillside Terrace until April 18th.
