Their Royal Highnesses the Crown Prince Couple on Royal Visit to Japan

The Crown Prince Couple visited Japan from October 8th to October 13th, the first three days with a cultural programme and the latter two days as part of the Danish Business delegation’s visit to Japan to promote Danish export.

During the cultural programme, the Crown Prince Couple, accompanied by Minister for Culture Mette Bock, participated in the charity ECCO Walkathon, where they after the walk handed over the donations from the event to two selected NPOs. Read more about their program on October 8 here.

The Crown Prince Couple then visited Kanazawa for a brief visit at the landscape garden Kenroku-en and a tour of the exhibition “Everyday Life – Signs of Awareness” at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art with display of Danish and Japanese design. On the final day of the cultural programme, HRH the Crown Prince re-visited Higashi-Matsushima to honour the victims of the 2011 tsunami, while HRH the Crown Princess re-visited H. C. Andersen Park in Funabashi to, among other things, inaugurate a playground. The Crown Prince Couple reunited in Tokyo for a visit to the National Archives of Japan. On October 11 and 12, the Crown Prince Couple, accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Anders Samuelsen, Minister for Health Ellen Trane Nørby and Minister for Environment and Food Esben Lunde Larsen, participated in the Business Delegation with 55 Danish companies.
