09.12.2014  07:08

Denmark’s presidency harnesses the unified impact of the Nordic countries and its 25 million citizens. All over the world countries look to “Nordic” solutions to current issues, challenges, and needs. This is also the case in Japan where the Danish presidency will advance the international attention already given to the Nordic countries. In that way, the Nordic “brand” can be used to utilize growth and to promote Nordic values.

In 2015, Denmark has presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers; the forum for Nordic governmental cooperation. The Council works for joint Nordic solutions for the citizens of the five Nordic countries (Iceland, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark) and engages in topics like climate issues and – solutions, free movement between the countries, and how the Nordic countries can stay united in a continued globalized world.

In 2015, Denmark is also in charge of N5, the Nordic countries foreign policy collaboration, and for NB8, the Nordic-Baltic circle.
