November-jazz (and green energy!) at the Embassy with DR Big Band and Sinne Eeg
This November the Danish Radio Big Band with Chief conductor, Miho Hazama stopped by the Danish Embassy for an intimate concert in the Ambassador’s residence, before they went on with their tour in seven Japanese cities.
The Grammy-nominated chief conductor Miho Hazama and DR Big Band met in 2017 when she was in charge of the opening concert with the band at Tokyo Jazz Festival with more than 3500 spectators.
Later in November, we tried a new combination at the Embassy - green energy, jazz, hotdogs and lots of hygge, as we hosted an informal evening at the Embassy to discuss and share knowledge on the latest within green energy in Denmark and Japan, network and enjoy live music.
Ambassador Peter Taksøe-Jensen opened up his residence and passed the floor to our Minister Counsellor Sune Strøm and Energy Advisor Kanau Takahashi to present the latest insights from Denmark’s Power-to-X strategy. With ambitious targets for GHG emissions, Denmark concludes that hydrogen, ammonia and other green fuels that can be produced from Power-to-X technology is needed to squeeze out fossil fuels. Yamato Kawamata, Senior Analyst from Wood Mackenzie followed and gave his perspective on Japan and hydrogen.
After the insightful energy talks on energy, leading Danish jazz singer Sinne Eeg and pianist Jacob Christoffersen gave a beautiful concert in the Ambassador’s living room. The courtyard then opened for networking, hygge, drinks and delicious Danish hotdogs from the Embassy’s own hotdog stand.
Thank you to everyone who joined and thank you to the Danish jazz-artists. The Danish Embassy strives to be the place for information and knowledge-sharing about green energy – so stay tuned for our next events!
