Ministerial Visit from the Danish Minister of Food, Agriculture & Fisheries

Last week, Minister for Food, Agriculture & Fisheries, Jacob Jensen, visited Japan on a two-day business trip to strengthen the Japan and Denmark relationship in the area of food and agriculture.

Being in town for only two days, Minister Jacob Jensen had a packed schedule. Other than witnessing the blossoming trees in Tokyo, part of the agenda for Monday was the signing of a commercial contract between the company Cornes AG and Danish manufacturer One2Feed. One2Feed is a small Danish manufacturer of automated feed robots for dairy farms, and Japanese company Cornes AG is representing One2Feed in the Japanese market. The same day, the minister signed a Memorandum of Cooperation which supports the bilateral cooperation between Denmark and Japan in the area of green transition.

On the second day of Danish Minister Jacob Jensen's visit to Japan, he discussed export promotion, sustainability, and cooperation with the Danish Chamber of Commerce. At the FOODEX JAPAN 2023 exhibition, Jensen inaugurated the event, met with Danish exhibitors, and discussed sustainability, a central theme of this year's exhibition. He also participated in the launch of the "SusDane" campaign, promoting the sustainability of Danish pork and dairy products to Japanese consumers. The day concluded with a reception, introducing the Minister to key partners in Japan, before departing for dinner at the renowned Gonpachi restaurant.

During the evening of both nights, there were also time for a drink and a Danish hot dog in the embassy courtyard! We are glad to see Japan and Denmark work together and strengthen the relationship in the area of food and agriculture!
