State Funeral for Shinzo Abe
The Speaker of the Danish Parliament attended the funeral along with Ambassador Peter Taksøe-Jensen.
On September 27, 2022, the Speaker of the Danish Parliament, Henrik Dam Kristensen, attended the state funeral of former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, along with Ambassador Peter Taksøe-Jensen to show their support to Japan and pay their respects to the longest serving prime minister in Japan and an advocate of freedom and democratic values.
Representatives from over 100 countries, including more than 20 Heads of State/Government participated in the State Funeral.
The memorial event was held at Nippon Budokan Hall and later on moved to Akasaka Palace, where Prime Minister Fumio Kishida greeted the attendees. Henrik Dam Kristensen afterwards conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Abe.
